KIM & JAVIER’S ROMANTIC ART DECO VINTAGE WEDDING IN EAST LONDON
With the temperature soaring beyond 32 degrees and not a cloud in the sky, Kim and Javi couldn't have chosen a hotter day for their London wedding in June 2017. Such a beautiful and connected couple. Their families travelled from Switzerland and Spain to come together for this day. The overwhelming sense of love and closeness within each family, and an uber-cool gathering of international friends, made this a very special wedding story.
The bride spent the eve of the wedding at The Curtain, a boutique London hotel that had opened only days before. When I arrived, Kim was having her makeup applied by the Painted Lady on an enormous, sun-drenched, wrap-around penthouse terrace with amazing views over the gritty, urban East End of London. The scene was set..
Kim looked stunning in her bespoke wedding dress and "Cinderella" bridal shoes by Emmy London, in keeping with the Art Deco style of Stoke Newington Town Hall, the venue for the civil wedding ceremony. All the guests looked beautiful and dapper in decadent 1920s glamour. Weddings simply don't get more hip than this!
A vintage London Routemaster bus took the wedding party to Sager & Wilde on Paradise Row, for some much-needed refreshment, by the gallon, followed by a sumptuous Italian feast.
After lunch, the Routemaster bus scooped up the guests once more, to take everyone partying at a secret East London bar, where they enjoyed more cocktails, music courtesy of a live Jazz trio, and dancing into the evening.
